Action Fraud

Action FraudAction Fraud is run by the NFA to make it easier for members of the public and small businesses to report cases of fraud, and to receive support and fraud prevention advice. Victims can speak to a trained advisor or use an online web-reporting tool to record their crime. Those who report a fraud requiring an immediate response will be referred directly to the police force or other most appropriate organisation.

Action Fraud was rolled out across the regions, starting in the West Midlands in October 2009 and ending with a full national launch in June 2010. All individual reports made to Action Fraud are securely transferred to the NFIB 'hub' and analysed ,along with the millions of other previously unreported frauds provided by partners in the public and private sector.

The NFIB will enable the police service to play its part in tackling fraud. By linking a wide range of data sources and providing an effective intelligence product the NFIB will be making a major contribution to tackling fraud in the UK.
